영남대학교에서 「귀속 기업의 불하와 경제 발전」으로 박사 학위를 받았다. 공저로 『고문서로 읽는 영남의 미시 세계』(2009) 『수량경제사로 다시 본 조선 후기』(2013) 『한국 역사인구학연구의 가능성』(2016) 등이 있고, 논문으로 「조선 후기와 일제 시대의 인구 변동」 「양반의 혼인 연령」 「Influences of the Yangban’s Age at Marriage and Ban on Remarriage on Childbirth in Choson society」 「Marital fertility during the Korean demographic transition: child survival and birth spacing」 등이 있다.
